Keiser University relocating Fort Myers campus

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Fort Lauderdale-based Keenan Development Group and Keiser University have partnered to buy 7.79 acres in the Forum Corporate Park for $1.38 million

The price equated to $177,325 per acre.

The joint venture plans to develop a 41 ,000- square-foot, two- story education building for Keiser University. Construction on the site has already started and is scheduled for completion in August.

Once the building is completed, Keiser will relocate its Fort Myers campus there a smaller leased location it currently occupies on Colonial Boulevard east of Metro Parkway.

The joint venture owns a total of 24 acres in the commercial park, and is currently looking for additional clients to develop in the park, according to Dale Chynoweth, chief financial officer for Keenan Development Group.

It’s a great location in a master-planned park with a nice mix of office, commercial and two hotels,” he says.

Recently, the two partners purchased the 117,335-square-foot former GunnAllen Financial building on Waters Avenue in Tampa for $7.05 million Chinook Construction Inc. is the general contractor for both projects.

The purchase entity Delphi Fort Myers Ltd. mortgaged the property to BankUnited for $6.52 million
